REGISTER WITH US

Spring House Medical Centre accepts registrations from
patients living in Welwyn, Welwyn Garden City and
Hatfield (postcode areas AL6 to AL10).

Before submitting a registration request, please check
that you live within our practice catchment area.

The practice is located in Welwyn Garden City, opposite the
New QEII Hospital. We encourage you to consider the
distance and travel time to the surgery before registering,
particularly if you are likely to need face-to-face
appointments.

If you would like to register with us, please complete the
online  GP patient registration form.

Once your registration has been processed, we will contact
you to confirm that you have been registered with the
practice and invite you to book a new patient health check.

If you take regular medication, you will also be offered an
appointment with one of our Clinical Pharmacists to review
your medicines. This appointment can usually be carried out
over the telephone.

We look forward to welcoming you to Spring House Medical
Centre.

PLEASE ENSURE YOU PROVIDE ALL THE INFORMATION REQUIRED TO
AVOID DELAYS WITH YOUR REGISTRATION AT THE PRACTICE.

Temporary Registrations

If you are ill while away from home or if you are not registered with a doctor but need to see one you can receive emergency treatment from the local GP practice for 14 days. After 14 days you will need to register as a temporary or permanent patient.

You can be registered as a temporary patient for up to three months. This will allow you to be on the local practice list and still remain a patient of your permanent GP. After three months you will have to re-register as a temporary patient or permanently register with that practice.

To register as a temporary patient

  • Contact the practice you wish to use.
  • Practices do not have to accept you as a temporary patient although they do have an obligation to offer emergency treatment.
  • You cannot register as a temporary patient at a practice in the town or area where you are already registered at another practice
  • We are unable to process any referrals for our temporary patient, so please bear this in mind.
